Presidential election in " Tagore’s Lamp of the East "

A very funny and strange presidential election has yet been taking place in the Republic of Korea, A Great Miracle Country,

nicknamed, the Lamp of the East, by Tagore

India's great canonist. I am afraid to say that the lamp ha
s been dimming only to go out soon.

Nowadays do Koreans no longer speak of hope. Viruses such as COVID-19 being rampant, no actions expected either of the ruling party or their representative candidate for the 20th presidential election, March 9.  No one would deny the wisdom and true love for the people, the best two virtues that should be looked out for and thereby respected by them. In a word, below level. The wise used to say that we had better  completely demolish the irreparable and sprout new shoots from the ground.

The Republic of Korea steps in a strange direction. Wearing nice-looking cosmetics naming democracy, leaders are doing things that are not helpful, if not harmful, to the community. They do anything for their own benefit. People don't even seem to care.. Are they already brainstormed only to vote for their political power attaining the administration?

In the midst of this, a significant number of people are keeping their eyes on Heo.. K. Y. carefully in anticipation of lasting hope. Candidate Huh K. Y. cannot, however,

attend major presidential debates on public broadcasters or major media. Why? The current administration has taken up a quasi-democratic dictatorship under the name of the election law. Under which,  presidential candidates, from parties with at least one member of the National Assembly, alone can participate in the presidential debates. Candidates who receive more than 29% of the vote will not be able to participate in the debates. Koreans are barred from the opportunity to choose their leader, as the system allows for two candidates to select one from the ruling party or the other from the opposition one. I would rather call it a  presidential election in Wonderland. I am curious to see how the approval rating of Hhu KY candidate, a powerful dark horse, will be in the coming weeks in such an unfair election. Who will the people pick for the leader in the 20th presidential election?

When South Korea was in darkness under Japanese colonial rule, India's great poet Tagore lit a spark of hope in the people of Korea in his poem, “Corea, the Lantern of the East.” Behold the lamp of the East that would illuminate the world bright again!

The Lamp of the East

In the golden age of Asia. Korea was one of its lamp-bearers. And that lamp is waiting to be lighted once again. For the illumination in the East.”
